1. What is a typical class like?

We start on low stools/chairs and do a series of three dimensional movements including moving the spine in all directions. Most of the stool work is focused on the spine, but we also do arm, leg and abdominal work. We move on to floor work where we continue working on the mobility of the spine and incorporate legs, arms, hips, and abs to do a well-rounded, full body workout. Standing work may be incorporated throughout the workout including in the beginning, middle and/or end.

We can adjust the focus of the class depending on the needs of the students. For example, we can do a rejuvenative class where we can focus on the breath and energy flow. Or we can do a more fast-paced class.

2. I have no prior experience. Can I join?

Of course. All levels are welcome. We tailor the class to fit the needs of the students.

3. I have an injury. Can I join?

Probably. Please get approval from your doctor before attending class. We can modify movements to accommodate most injuries. This method is a wonderful way to start moving after an injury. People with limited mobility are welcome. If you have specific questions about your injury, please contact us.

4. I am a professional/aspiring athlete or dancer. Can GYROKINESIS® class help me in my sport/art?

Absolutely! GYROKINESIS® is great cross-training for any sport/dance. In fact, the founder, Juliu Horvath's first students were professional ballet dancers. Horvath himself was a professional ballet dancer who suffered a career ending injury — a ruptured Achilles tendon. After his injury, he founded this method after years of studying movement, energy work, yoga and meditation.

5. What do I need to bring/wear?

Bring a yoga/Pilates mat and wear comfortable clothing. For footwear, please either wear socks or be barefoot. A low stool/chair will be provided. If you prefer to purchase your own stool, please contact me and I will direct you to where to purchase it.

6. Do you offer private or semi-private sessions?
